Infant Annihilator

Infant Annihilator is a British technical deathcore band formed in April 2012 in Hull, England, by guitarist Eddie Pickard and drummer Aaron Kitcher. Conceived largely as an internet-driven project rather than a conventional touring act at first, the band built its following through extreme instrumental precision, viral videos and a deliberately outrageous, shock-value image, at times describing their own style with the tongue-in-cheek label «eggmetal».

Musically, the band sits within technical deathcore and slam, marked by hyper-fast tremolo riffing, dense breakdowns, blast beats and extremely low, guttural vocals contrasted with high-pitched shrieks. Songs such as «Soil the Stillborn», «Unholy Gravebirth» and «Motherless Miscarriage» showcase this combination of technical musicianship with deliberately transgressive, horror-inspired subject matter and lyrical themes that have drawn both a dedicated fanbase and significant controversy.

Despite — or because of — their divisive content, Infant Annihilator has carved out a notable niche in the extreme metal underground, praised by genre fans for the sheer instrumental skill on display even as the band's imagery and lyrical extremity remain a point of ongoing debate. The band's blend of technical prowess and irreverent, often absurdist humor in their visuals sets them apart from more straight-faced peers in the deathcore scene.
