In This Moment

In This Moment is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 2005 by vocalist Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth. The band emerged from the melodic metalcore scene of the mid-2000s before steadily evolving toward a more theatrical, industrial-tinged style built around Brink's dramatic, genre-spanning vocal delivery, which ranges from soaring cleans to harsh screams.

The band's early records established them within the heavy music underground, but it was 2012's Blood, featuring songs like «Whore» and the title track, that pushed them into the mainstream, debuting inside the top twenty of the Billboard 200 and eventually earning gold certification. Its follow-up, Black Widow, continued the group's embrace of dark, gothic imagery and stage theatrics, cementing In This Moment's reputation as much for their visually striking live shows as for their music.
