About the artist
I the Mighty are an American progressive post-hardcore band from San Francisco, California, formed in the late 2000s around vocalist and guitarist Brent Walsh, guitarist Ian Pedigo, bassist Chris Hinkley, and drummer Blake Dahlinger. They emerged from the same wave of melodic, technically minded post-hardcore acts that also produced bands like Dance Gavin Dance and Hail the Sun, and built a loyal underground following through independent touring and a string of concept-driven releases.
Musically, the band blends intricate, math-influenced guitar interplay with soaring clean vocal melodies and occasional harsh screams, often structuring full albums around narrative or thematic arcs rather than standalone singles. Songs such as «Andrew's Song», «The Hound and the Fox», and «Silver Tongues» showcase their knack for pairing emotionally direct lyrics with technically ambitious arrangements, a hallmark of the post-hardcore subgenre they helped shape.
Over the years I the Mighty have built a catalogue defined by conceptual cohesion, drawing frequently on literary and personal themes across their EPs and albums, and remain a respected name within the American post-hardcore and progressive rock underground.
