HYUKOH (혁오)

HYUKOH (혁오) is a South Korean indie rock band formed in Seoul. The lineup consists of Oh Hyuk on vocals and rhythm guitar, Im Dong-gun on bass, Lim Hyun-jae on lead guitar, and Lee In-woo on drums. The band debuted in September 2014 with the EP «20», quickly building a following in Hongdae, the neighborhood widely regarded as the center of Korea's independent music scene.

The group's sound blends dreamy, understated guitar work with Oh Hyuk's distinctive, laid-back vocal delivery, drawing on indie rock, folk, and pop influences while resisting the polish typical of mainstream K-pop production. Their 2015 EP «22» pushed them into the mainstream after exposure on a popular Korean variety program, and the record charted within the top ten of the Billboard World Albums Chart. Songs such as «Comes and Goes» and «Wi Ing Wi Ing» helped define their early identity as a band comfortable with both melancholy and playful, offbeat songwriting.

HYUKOH is signed to HIGHGRND, a label operated under YG Entertainment by rapper Tablo. Over the years the band has continued to expand its sound on releases like «23» and later full-length records, incorporating more R&B and hip-hop-adjacent textures while keeping their guitar-driven core. They remain one of the most recognizable acts to have emerged from Seoul's indie scene into wider regional popularity.
