Howie Day

Howie Day is an American singer-songwriter from Bangor, Maine, who emerged from the early-2000s acoustic and indie singer-songwriter scene. Known for his emotive, introspective lyrics and a signature live-looping technique that lets him build layered, full-band arrangements as a solo performer, he began playing guitar and performing as a teenager before releasing his underground breakthrough debut, «Australia», in 2000.

His major-label follow-up, «Stop All the World Now» (2003), brought him wider attention, and its most enduring song, «Collide», became a platinum-certified radio staple that remains his best-known work, alongside tracks like «She Says» and «Perfect Time of Day». His sound blends acoustic-driven pop-rock with atmospheric, layered textures, sitting alongside contemporaries of the mid-2000s singer-songwriter boom.
