About the artist
Hayko Cepkin is a Turkish rock musician born in Istanbul, known for bringing a theatrical, rebellious image to the Turkish rock scene despite a formal musical education. He studied singing and music theory before beginning his professional career, working as a keyboardist, composer and arranger and collaborating with figures such as Koray Candemir, Demir Demirkan, Aylin Aşlım and Oğuzhan Şanlısoy before releasing his own material.
His debut solo album, «Sakin Olmam Lazım», was written, performed and produced entirely by himself, blending rock and electronic elements with Arabesque influences drawn from Turkish folk tradition, a mix that reflects his eclectic musical background. His sound continued to evolve across subsequent releases, mixing rock with pop, and even touching on country and rap textures, as heard in songs like «Paranoya», «Ölüyorum», «Fırtınam» and «Aşk Kitabı».
Over his career, Cepkin has built a distinctive place in Turkish rock as both a solo artist and a sought-after collaborator, known for songs such as «Geç Kaldım», «Bertaraf Et» and «Yol Gözümü Dağlıyor». His combination of classical training, keyboard-driven arrangements and a rebellious rock persona has made him a recognizable figure in the Turkish alternative and rock music landscape.
