Harvey Danger

Harvey Danger were an American alternative rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in the mid-1990s, part of the wave of post-grunge Seattle acts that emerged as the city's early-90s scene evolved. The band is best known for their breakout single «Flagpole Sitta», a wry, energetic anthem that became a defining alt-rock radio hit and later found new life through streaming and internet culture.

Musically, Harvey Danger combined jangly, hook-driven guitar pop with sharp, self-aware lyrics, sitting closer to power-pop and college rock than to the heavier grunge sound their hometown was known for. Their debut album «Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?» carried «Flagpole Sitta» and «Carlotta Valdez» and established the band's smart, sardonic songwriting voice.

The group continued releasing music through the 2000s, including the album «Little by Little...», before disbanding, leaving behind a catalog that captured a distinctly literate, wry corner of the Seattle alternative scene beyond its more famous grunge exports.
