GROUPLOVE

GROUPLOVE is an American indie rock band formed in 2010 after singers Christian Zucconi and Hannah Hooper met the group's future instrumentalists while staying at an artist commune on the island of Crete. Signed soon after forming, the band built its sound on bright, layered harmonies, danceable rhythms and an anthemic, festival-ready energy that made it a fixture of indie playlists in the early 2010s.

Their 2011 debut album, Never Trust a Happy Song, launched them into the mainstream on the strength of the single «Tongue Tied», which went on to be certified platinum and became a staple of commercials and TV placements. The band followed with Spreading Rumours (2013), Big Mess (2016) and Healer (2020), refining a sound that mixes indie pop hooks with rawer rock energy and Zucconi and Hooper's dual lead vocals.

The band's lineup has shifted over the years, with original members Ryan Rabin and Sean Gadd eventually replaced, while Zucconi, Hooper and guitarist Andrew Wessen have remained the group's core. GROUPLOVE is known for its high-energy live shows and for songs that pair upbeat, singalong choruses with more melancholic or introspective lyrics underneath.
