Good Charlotte

Good Charlotte is an American rock band formed by twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden in Waldorf, Maryland, in the mid-1990s. Emerging as part of the early-2000s pop-punk wave, the band blended melodic hooks with punk-influenced energy and lyrics about outsider identity, class frustration and teenage disaffection, connecting with a generation of suburban and working-class listeners.

Their self-titled debut established the band, but it was 2002's «The Young and the Hopeless» that turned them into pop-punk mainstays, driven by anthemic singles like «Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous» and «The Anthem», both of which became genre-defining hits. Follow-up albums «The Chronicles of Life and Death» and «Good Morning Revival» pushed the band toward more polished, radio-friendly production while retaining their anthemic sensibility, with tracks like «I Just Wanna Live» and «Dance Floor Anthem (I Don't Wanna Be in Love)» extending their commercial reach.

Over the years Good Charlotte has collaborated with a diverse range of artists and remained active through lineup continuity centered on the Madden brothers, taking an extended hiatus before returning with new independent releases. Their catalog remains a touchstone of 2000s pop-punk, remembered for turning outsider anthems into mainstream radio staples.
