About the artist

Gary Moore was a Northern Irish guitarist and singer-songwriter, born in Belfast, renowned as one of the most expressive and technically accomplished rock guitarists of his generation. He began playing at a young age and made his live debut as a child during the intermission of a show his father promoted, going on to a career that spanned hard rock, blues-rock and instrumental guitar virtuosity.

Moore's playing was defined by soaring, emotionally charged solos and a rich, sustained tone, heard on signature tracks such as «Parisienne Walkways» and «Empty Rooms». In the late 1980s and 1990s he shifted decisively toward blues, with «Still Got the Blues (For You)» becoming one of his most enduring and widely recognized songs, helping introduce a new audience to blues-rock guitar playing.

Over his career Moore moved fluidly between hard rock and blues idioms, building a catalog respected by guitarists and rock fans alike. He died in his sleep in 2011 at the age of 58, leaving behind a body of work still cited as a benchmark for guitar tone and phrasing.
