About the artist

Frank Iero and the Patience was the solo band led by American musician Frank Iero, best known as guitarist of My Chemical Romance. Formed in New Jersey and announced in September 2016 alongside the single «I'm A Mess», the Patience grew out of Iero's earlier project Frnkiero andthe Cellabration, keeping longtime collaborator Evan Nestor on guitar and vocals while adding Matt Olsson on drums and Alex Grippo on bass.

Musically the band leaned into raw, melodic post-hardcore and alternative rock, trading some of the pop-punk gloss of Iero's earlier work for grittier, more emotionally direct songwriting. Tracks like «Oceans» and «World Destroyer» showcase this tension between hooks and abrasion, while the band's lone full-length and accompanying EP explored themes of loss, anxiety and survival.

By 2019 the lineup evolved again, rebranding as Frank Iero and the Future Violents, making the Patience era a distinct but relatively short-lived chapter in Iero's prolific solo catalog outside My Chemical Romance.
