FOZZY

Fozzy is a hard rock and heavy metal band formed in the late 1990s by guitarist Rich Ward of Stuck Mojo alongside professional wrestler and vocalist Chris Jericho. The band originally launched with a tongue-in-cheek fictional backstory claiming its members had been trapped in Japan for two decades, secretly writing songs that later became famous hits by other artists, a gimmick that gradually gave way as the band developed its own distinct identity and original material.

Early Fozzy releases leaned toward covers and homages before the group shifted decisively toward hard-driving, riff-heavy original songs with anthemic choruses tailored for arena and wrestling-crowd energy. Albums such as Chasing the Grail and Judas helped the band build a dedicated following that straddles both the rock and professional wrestling worlds, with Jericho's high-profile wrestling career bringing crossover attention to the band.

Over time, Fozzy evolved from a novelty side project into a respected touring act in its own right, known for high-energy live shows and songs like Judas and Painless that found traction on rock radio, all while Jericho balanced his music career alongside his ongoing work in professional wrestling.
