Foghat

Foghat is an English rock band formed in London in 1971 by Dave Peverett, Roger Earl, and Tony Stevens, all former members of the blues-rock band Savoy Brown, later joined by slide guitarist Rod Price. The band relocated its focus to the American market and built a career on hard-driving, blues-rooted boogie rock, becoming a staple of 1970s FM radio.

Their sound centers on Price's slide guitar work paired with a heavy, riff-driven rhythm section, exemplified by their signature hit «Slow Ride» from the 1975 album Fool for the City, along with their cover of Willie Dixon's «I Just Want to Make Love to You». Their live shows and steady stream of albums through the mid-to-late 1970s made them one of the era's dependable arena and radio rock acts, even as they remained more of a cult and touring favorite than a singles-chart powerhouse.

The band went through lineup changes over the decades, with founder Roger Earl continuing to lead touring versions of Foghat into later years. Their catalog remains a touchstone of American classic rock radio, valued for its unpretentious blues-boogie energy and guitar-driven grooves.
