About the artist
Flyleaf are an American Christian rock band formed in Texas in the early 2000s, initially performing under the name Passerby before adopting their current name in 2004. Their music combines heavy, alternative-metal-tinged guitars with melodic hooks and lyrics rooted in themes of faith, redemption and inner struggle, delivered through powerful, dynamic vocals.
The band broke through with their 2005 self-titled debut album, which became a long-running fixture on the Billboard 200 and eventually went platinum, driven by singles like «I’m So Sick» and «All Around Me». Their second album, «Memento Mori», continued their commercial success with a concept built around spiritual warfare themes, followed by the acoustic «Remember to Live» EP.
Founding vocalist Lacey Sturm departed in 2012 to focus on family life, with Kristen May stepping in as lead singer for the album «Between the Stars». Sturm later reunited with the band for live performances in the 2020s, marking a new chapter for the group after years of lineup changes.
