Five Finger Death Punch

Five Finger Death Punch, often abbreviated as 5FDP, is an American heavy metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2005 by guitarist Zoltan Bathory and vocalist Ivan Moody. Taking their name from a fictional martial arts move referenced in Kill Bill, the band emerged during a wave of American groove metal acts blending aggressive riffing with hard-rock accessibility, drawing comparisons to Pantera and Disturbed while carving out a sound built on down-tuned guitars, gang-shout choruses, and Moody's raspy, versatile vocals.

The band's breakthrough came with albums like War Is the Answer (2009) and American Capitalist (2011), which produced hits such as «Coming Down» and «Under and Over It», but it was their 2013 cover of «Bad Company» and orchestral rock ballads like «Wrong Side of Heaven» and «Remember Everything» that broadened their appeal beyond the metal audience, blending heavy riffs with introspective, socially conscious lyrics about war veterans and personal struggle.

Over the years the band has undergone several lineup changes, with guitarist Jason Hook and drummer Jeremy Spencer eventually replaced by Andy James and Charlie Engen respectively, while Bathory and Moody have remained the group's core. Five Finger Death Punch is regarded as one of the most commercially successful groove metal bands of the 2010s, known for pairing raw aggression with radio-friendly hooks.
