Firehouse

FireHouse is an American hard rock band formed in 1984 in Richmond, Virginia, by guitarist Bill Leverty, originally under the name White Heat. The classic lineup solidified with vocalist and keyboardist C.J. Snare, bassist Perry Richardson, and drummer Michael Foster, and the band relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, before signing with Epic Records in 1989.

FireHouse became one of the more commercially successful acts of the melodic hard rock and glam metal wave of the early 1990s, known for pairing arena-ready guitar riffs with power ballads. Their self-titled 1990 debut album spawned hits and earned the band a Grammy nomination and an American Music Award for Best New Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Artist, arriving just as the genre's mainstream popularity was about to be eclipsed by grunge.

Despite shifting trends in rock through the 1990s, FireHouse maintained a dedicated fan base, particularly overseas in markets like Asia, and continued to release albums and tour for decades. C.J. Snare's powerful vocal range and Bill Leverty's guitar work remained the band's defining sonic signature throughout its many lineup changes.
