Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas

Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas is a Japanese band from Kobe, formed in 2008, known for blending screamo and metalcore aggression with electronic dance elements and pop melody. The group’s twin-vocal approach, contrasting clean singing with harsh screams over synth-driven, danceable production, set them apart from typical Japanese rock acts and earned them the nickname of pioneers of the «kawaii metal»-adjacent electronicore movement.

Their 2010 debut album Dance&Scream established their signature chaotic, genre-blending sound, drawing on emo, screamo, and dance music in equal measure. The follow-up mini-album NEXTREME in 2011 brought the band their first top-10 placement on Japan’s official CD sales chart, cementing their rapid rise from underground EPs to a wider mainstream audience.

Known for explosive, high-energy live shows, Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas built a devoted fanbase across Japan and internationally through singles such as «Just Awake» and «Jump Around», remaining one of the most recognizable acts in the Japanese electronicore scene.
