About the artist
Extremoduro are a Spanish rock band formed in the mid-1980s in Extremadura around singer and guitarist Roberto Iniesta, known as Robe, whose raw, literary lyrics and gravelly voice became the group's defining feature. Alongside guitarist Iñaki «Uoho» Antón, who joined in the following years, the band built one of the most influential catalogues in Spanish-language rock, mixing hard rock riffs with blues, flamenco touches and long, poetic, often provocative lyrics dealing with drugs, religion, love and social criticism.
Albums such as «Deltoya» and «Agila» cemented their reputation through the 1990s, while songs like «Jesucristo García (Rock Transgresivo)» and «So Payaso» became anthems for a generation of Spanish rock fans, known for Robe's confrontational, stream-of-consciousness writing style delivered over heavy, guitar-driven arrangements.
Despite line-up changes over the decades, with Robe and Iñaki Antón as the group's constant core, Extremoduro remained one of Spain's biggest-selling and most respected rock acts, celebrated for refusing to soften their sound or message for mainstream radio, before the band's activity wound down in the following years.
