Emmure

Emmure is an American metalcore band formed in New Fairfield, Connecticut in 2003, fronted throughout its history by vocalist Frankie Palmeri. Their sound fuses breakdown-heavy metalcore with elements of nu-metal and deathcore, built around Palmeri's aggressive vocal delivery and the band's signature crushing, groove-based riffs - a style that made them a fixture of the mid-2000s to 2010s heavy music scene.

Songs such as «Flag of the Beast», «Shinjuku Masterlord» and «Solar Flare Homicide» established their reputation, and the band toured extensively with acts like Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying and Whitechapel, while appearing at festivals including Mayhem Festival, Warped Tour and Knotfest. Their first six albums were released on Victory Records, with later material moving to SharpTone Records.

Emmure has been a consistently controversial band, drawing criticism over provocative lyrics, imagery and public incidents, including backlash over a planned track title and a short-lived clothing line. Despite - or partly because of - that notoriety, the band has maintained a dedicated fanbase and a lasting influence within the harsher end of the metalcore genre.
