About the artist
El Cuarteto de Nos is one of Uruguay's and Latin America's most influential rock bands, formed in Montevideo in 1984. Originally leaning toward a more playful, ska- and rap-infused sound, the group evolved over the decades into a sharp, literate rock act known for witty, socially observant, often darkly humorous lyrics penned largely by frontman Roberto «Rober» Musso. Their breakthrough came in 1994 with «Otra Navidad en las Trincheras», which won them strong critical acclaim in Uruguay.
The band's core lineup includes Musso on guitar and vocals, Santiago Tavella on bass, Álvaro Pintos on drums, Gustavo Antuña on guitar, and Santiago Marrero on keyboards. Their most celebrated period is the album trilogy of «Raro» (2006), «Bipolar» (2008) and «Porfiado» (2012), which cemented their reputation across the Spanish-speaking world with tracks combining rock, pop, electronic textures and rap cadences alongside biting satire.
El Cuarteto de Nos has earned multiple Latin Grammy nominations and is regarded as a defining voice of Uruguayan rock, admired for balancing musical eclecticism with sharp storytelling and social commentary that resonates far beyond their home country.
