About the artist
Dubioza Kolektiv is a Bosnian band formed in 2003, born from the merger of two earlier groups from Zenica and Sarajevo. From the start, the band built a sound fusing rock and hip-hop with strong touches of Balkan folk music, a combination that became their signature and set them apart on the wider Balkan and European alternative scene.
Their lyrics are consistently marked by social and political commentary, and the band has become known as one of the most outspoken critical voices against regime politics in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Early releases were sung entirely in English before the group shifted toward Bosnian-language material, broadening their reach at home while retaining international appeal. Over the years they released a steady stream of albums that moved between reggae-tinged grooves, punk energy and hip-hop cadences.
Dubioza Kolektiv is also known for cross-border collaborations, including early work with British-Pakistani artists connected to Fun-Da-Mental, reflecting the band's openness to global sounds within a distinctly regional identity. Their live shows, marked by high energy and a strong political charge, have made them a touring fixture across the Balkans and Europe.
