DragonForce

DragonForce are a British power metal band formed in London in 1999, known for extraordinarily fast, technically demanding guitar work and soaring, uplifting choruses drawn from fantasy and heroic themes. The band grew out of the earlier group DragonHeart, founded by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, and built its reputation through relentless touring and a sound that fused speed metal, power metal and video-game-inspired melodic sensibilities.

DragonForce became a global phenomenon largely thanks to «Through the Fire and Flames», a track that reached massive audiences after being featured as one of the hardest songs in the video game Guitar Hero III. The song's blistering guitar solos turned Li and Totman into icons among metal guitarists and helped define a new wave of internet-era virality for extreme metal. Albums like Sonic Firestorm and Inhuman Rampage cemented the band's identity around speed, technicality and anthemic songwriting.

Over the years the lineup shifted considerably, most notably the departure of original vocalist ZP Theart, replaced by Marc Hudson, and later changes on drums and bass. Despite these transitions, Li and Totman have remained the band's creative core, keeping DragonForce a defining act of modern power metal known for pushing technical limits while staying rooted in melodic, high-energy songwriting.
