Disturbed

Disturbed are an American rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in the mid-1990s. The band found its defining lineup with the addition of vocalist David Draiman, alongside guitarist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer and drummer Mike Wengren, crafting a heavy, rhythmically aggressive sound built around Draiman's distinctive percussive vocal style and Donegan's riff-driven guitar work.

The band broke through with their debut single «Down with the Sickness», a song whose intense, guttural vocal breakdown became one of the most recognizable moments in early-2000s metal and helped define their sound as a bridge between nu metal and more traditional heavy rock. Over the following albums they refined a formula of anthemic choruses and heavy riffs that made them consistent chart-toppers, with the band repeatedly debuting at number one on the Billboard 200.

After a hiatus in the early 2010s, during which members pursued side projects, Disturbed returned with the album Immortalized and the single «The Vengeful One». Their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's «The Sound of Silence», reimagined as a stark, powerful ballad, introduced the band to a new audience and became one of their most acclaimed performances, alongside long-standing favorites like «Stricken», «Indestructible» and «Inside the Fire».
