Descendents

Descendents are a punk rock band formed in Manhattan Beach, California, widely credited as a foundational act in the melodic hardcore and pop-punk sound. The classic lineup features Milo Aukerman on vocals, Bill Stevenson on drums, Karl Alvarez on bass, and Stephen Egerton on guitar, though the band's roots trace back further to its early configurations before Aukerman joined.

Their 1982 debut «Milo Goes to College» is regarded as a landmark record, marrying breakneck hardcore tempos with unexpectedly catchy melodies and self-deprecating, everyday lyrical subject matter — food, coffee, awkward romance, and adolescence — in place of the political themes common to their peers. Tracks like «Suburban Home» and «’Merican» became touchstones for the pop-punk and skate-punk bands that followed, and Bill Stevenson's songwriting and production work extended the band's influence well beyond its own catalog.

Descendents have broken up and reformed multiple times over the decades, with members pursuing other projects such as All in the interim. They returned with the studio album «Hypercaffium Spazzinate» in 2016 and have remained active since, continuing to tour and record while retaining the humor and melodic urgency that defined their earliest work.
