About the artist
Delirious? was a British contemporary Christian rock band formed in Littlehampton, England in 1992, originally under the name The Cutting Edge Band. The classic lineup featured Martin Smith on vocals and guitar, Stuart «Stu G» Garrard on guitar, Jon Thatcher on bass, Tim Jupp on keyboards, and Stewart Smith on drums. Rooted in the UK worship scene of the 1990s, the band grew out of church youth events before becoming one of the most influential acts in modern Christian music.
Musically, Delirious? blended anthemic pop-rock hooks with the earnestness of worship music, drawing comparisons to U2 and Coldplay for their soaring guitar textures and stadium-sized choruses. Songs such as «I Could Sing of Your Love Forever», «Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?», «History Maker», and «Majesty (Here I Am)» became staples of congregational worship far beyond their native Britain, crossing over into mainstream rock charts and Christian radio in the US and elsewhere.
The band toured extensively worldwide and released a string of acclaimed albums before disbanding after a farewell tour in 2009. Their catalogue remains widely sung in churches today, and several members went on to notable solo and production careers, cementing Delirious?'s legacy as pioneers of the worship-rock sound.
