Dawes

Dawes is an American rock band formed in 2009 in Los Angeles, California, built around brothers Taylor Goldsmith (guitar, lead vocals) and Griffin Goldsmith (drums, vocals), alongside bassist Wylie Gelber and, later, keyboardist Lee Pardini. The band grew out of the Southern California singer-songwriter and Laurel Canyon tradition, drawing comparisons to 1970s acts like Jackson Browne and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Their sound centers on warm, guitar-driven arrangements, close vocal harmonies, and Taylor Goldsmith's narrative, introspective songwriting, which tends toward themes of memory, relationships, and the passage of time. Songs like «When My Time Comes» and «A Little Bit of Everything» became signature tracks, showcasing the band's knack for building emotional weight through plainspoken storytelling.
