Danzig

Danzig is an American metal band formed in 1987 by vocalist Glenn Danzig following the breakup of his previous group Samhain. The original lineup paired Danzig with Chuck Biscuits on drums, Eerie Von on bass, and John Christ on guitar, forging a sound that fused doom-laden heavy metal with the bluesy, Elvis-inflected croon of Glenn Danzig's voice.

The band's breakthrough came with «Mother», from their 1988 self-titled debut, which became a rock radio staple after a 1993 video re-release pushed it into mainstream visibility. The band's early albums, culminating in the acclaimed «Danzig III: How the Gods Kill», are widely regarded as the high point of their catalog, distinguished by a heavier, blues-rock-infused take on metal than most of their contemporaries.

Danzig has released a dozen studio albums, with numerous lineup changes over the decades while Glenn Danzig has remained the band's sole constant. Tracks like «Twist of Cain», «How the Gods Kill» and «She Rides» remain fan favorites, and the band's music has found a wider audience through placements in film, including all three ‘Hangover’ movie soundtracks.
