Daisy Jones & The Six

Daisy Jones & The Six is a fictional 1970s rock band created by author Taylor Jenkins Reid for her bestselling novel of the same name, which traces the rise and sudden breakup of a Fleetwood Mac-style group built around the volatile creative partnership between singer Billy Dunne and the free-spirited Daisy Jones. The novel is written as an oral history, letting band members recount conflicting versions of the same events, from addiction and love triangles to the making of the group's one classic album.

The project crossed into real music with the 2023 Amazon Prime series adaptation, starring Riley Keough as Daisy Jones and Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne. To support the show, the cast recorded an actual studio album, AURORA, performing original songs written to sound like a lost 1970s classic, including tracks such as «Look At Us Now (Honeycomb)», «The River» and «Regret Me».

Musically, the songs lean into warm, guitar-driven soft rock and pop with close harmonies, evoking the Laurel Canyon sound of the era. Because the band and its songs exist at the intersection of fiction and a real recorded release, Daisy Jones & The Six stands as an unusual case of a book-born group becoming an actual streaming and chart presence.
