Crazy Town

Crazy Town is an American rap rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1995 by Bret Mazur and Seth Binzer. Emerging during the late-1990s rap rock and nu-metal wave, the band blended hip-hop vocal delivery with rock instrumentation and heavy sampling.

The group achieved massive mainstream success with their 2000 single «Butterfly», which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped propel their debut album «The Gift of Game» (1999) to sell over a million copies. The song's sample-driven, melodic hook made it one of the defining crossover hits of the era.

Their 2002 follow-up album «Darkhorse» failed to replicate that success, and the band broke up in 2003. Mazur and Binzer eventually reunited the group in 2007, later releasing a third album, «The Brimstone Sluggers», in 2015, though «Butterfly» remains their defining legacy.
