CocoRosie is an American duo formed by sisters Bianca «Coco» and Sierra «Rosie» Casady, who grew up largely apart and reconnected as adults in Paris, where they began recording together. Their sound blends folk, hip-hop, opera, and found-sound production, mixing Sierra’s classically trained soprano with Bianca’s untrained, more rhythmic vocal style and beatbox-influenced production. This eclectic approach placed them at the center of the mid-2000s «freak folk» scene alongside artists like Devendra Banhart and Antony Hegarty (Anohni).

Songs such as «Werewolf», «Lemonade», and «Beautiful Boyz» showcase their trademark cryptic, dreamlike lyrics and layered, toy-instrument arrangements that feel handmade rather than studio-polished.
