Cleopatrick is a Canadian hard rock duo from Cobourg, Ontario, formed by childhood friends Luke Gruntz (vocals, guitar) and Ian Fraser (drums). Growing up in a small town without venues or programs for young musicians, they built a raw, riff-driven sound that pairs sludgy, distorted guitar with hip-hop-influenced rhythmic phrasing, giving their music a heavier, groove-based edge than typical garage rock.

The duo self-released early EPs before the single «Hometown» slowly gained traction on streaming platforms, eventually charting on Canadian and US rock charts years after its release. That breakout led to festival slots at Lollapalooza and Shaky Knees, and years of relentless touring in a battered minivan before they could afford a proper tour bus.

Their debut full-length album, Bummer, released in 2021, expanded on the duo's stripped-down two-piece formula, built entirely around Gruntz's guitar and vocals and Fraser's drums. Songs like «Youth» and «Family Van» reflect their blue-collar, small-town origins, and cleopatrick have continued to release new material while touring internationally as one of the more distinctive minimalist rock acts of their generation.
