CKY

CKY is an American rock band from West Chester, Pennsylvania, formed in 1998 by vocalist and guitarist Deron Miller, guitarist Chad I Ginsburg, and drummer Jess Margera. Originally called Camp Kill Yourself, the group built its early reputation through music featured on the CKY video series and the MTV show Jackass, both tied to Jess Margera's brother Bam Margera, giving the band an audience well beyond typical rock radio.

Musically CKY blends heavy alternative and hard rock riffs with elements of stoner rock, punk energy, and unexpectedly melodic, almost pop-leaning choruses, giving songs like «96 Quite Bitter Beings» and «Flesh Into Gear» a raw, anthemic quality that fit skate and action-sports culture of the early 2000s. Tracks such as «Escape from Hellview» and «Sink Into the Underground» showcase the band's heavier, more aggressive side.

Despite lineup changes over the years, CKY has remained a cult favorite among rock and skate-culture fans, valued for its blend of accessible hooks and abrasive guitar work, and for the crossover it achieved through television and video exposure rather than mainstream radio.
