Cigarettes After Sex is an American dream pop project fronted by songwriter, singer and guitarist Greg Gonzalez, formed in El Paso, Texas and later based in Brooklyn, New York. The band's sound is defined by Gonzalez's hushed, androgynous vocals floating over slow, reverb-drenched guitar and minimal, hypnotic rhythms, creating an ambient, narcotic atmosphere that has drawn comparisons to slowcore and shoegaze acts.

The project built a devoted online following years before mainstream attention, with songs like «Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby» and «Affection» circulating widely on the internet. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2017, and its singles such as «Apocalypse», «K.» and «Sunsetz» cemented their reputation for intensely intimate, cinematic songwriting built around themes of desire, memory and heartbreak.
