Charly Bliss

Charly Bliss are a four-piece band from Brooklyn, New York, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Eva Hendricks, with guitarist Spencer Fox, bassist Dan Shure and drummer Sam Hendricks. Formed in the early 2010s, the band built a following through New York's DIY and indie-pop scenes before signing to Barsuk Records.

Their sound has been described as «bubblegrunge» — a fusion of hook-laden power-pop melodies, buzzing distorted guitars and 90s alt-rock energy reminiscent of bands like Weezer and Veruca Salt, paired with Eva Hendricks's bright, high-register vocal delivery. Their 2017 debut album «Guppy» established this template, with tracks like «Percolator» and «Ruby» showcasing their blend of sugary hooks and emotionally raw lyrics.

Their follow-up «Young Enough» (2019) pushed the band toward more polished, synth-tinged production while retaining their pop-punk core, and later releases including «Shinny» continued to explore glossier textures. Songs such as «Capacity» and «Black Hole» reflect the band's recurring interest in pairing upbeat, danceable arrangements with lyrics about anxiety, trauma and resilience, making them a distinctive presence in the 2010s indie-pop and power-pop revival.
