Camp Cope

Camp Cope are a rock trio from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2015 around the songwriting of vocalist and guitarist Georgia McDonald, known as Georgia Maq. Rounded out by bassist Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich and drummer Sarah Thompson, the band grew out of McDonald's solo material, which her bandmates helped flesh out into a fuller, punk-inflected sound. Signed to the Melbourne independent label Poison City Records, the group quickly became known for candid, emotionally direct lyrics dealing with grief, relationships, and gender inequality in the music industry.

Musically, Camp Cope favor a stripped-back, guitar-driven approach that leans on McDonald's expressive, conversational vocal delivery rather than studio polish, drawing comparisons to American acts like Hop Along, Cayetana, and Shit Present, all cited as influences.
