About the artist
Caesars were a Swedish rock band formed in Stockholm in the early 1990s, part of a wave of garage-influenced rock acts that emerged from Scandinavia in that era. Their sound combined fuzzy, retro-tinged guitar riffs with catchy, hook-driven songwriting, giving them a raw yet accessible edge distinct from more polished contemporary pop-rock.
The band built a following in Sweden through several albums before achieving international recognition with «Jerk It Out», a track that became a global hit after being featured in a widely broadcast television commercial in the mid-2000s. The song's driving organ riff and garage-rock energy introduced Caesars to audiences well beyond their home country, becoming their defining moment.
After continuing to release music through the following years, the band effectively went on indefinite hiatus around 2012, with guitarist Joakim Åhlund describing the group as being «on ice». They have not released new material since, but «Jerk It Out» remains a recognizable touchstone of 2000s garage-rock revival.
