Bush

Bush are a British rock band formed in London in 1992, fronted by singer and guitarist Gavin Rossdale. Emerging alongside the American grunge and post-grunge wave despite their English origins, the band broke through internationally with their 1994 debut album Sixteen Stone, which became a multi-platinum success on the strength of singles like «Everything Zen», «Comedown», «Little Things», «Glycerine» and «Machinehead». Their sound combined heavy, distorted guitar riffs with melodic, radio-friendly hooks, drawing comparisons to Nirvana while carving out a distinct identity built around Rossdale's raspy vocal delivery.

The band's second album, Razorblade Suitcase (1996), produced with Steve Albini, pushed their sound toward a rawer, more abrasive texture and topped the Billboard 200, spawning hits such as «Swallowed» and «Greedy Fly». A third album, The Science of Things (1999), incorporated more electronic textures, including on the track «The Chemicals Between Us», before the band split in 2002. Rossdale went on to form Institute and later pursued a solo career.

Bush reunited in 2010 with a lineup that included Chris Traynor and Corey Britz alongside Rossdale, releasing The Sea of Memories that year and continuing with albums including Man on the Run (2014) and Black and White Rainbows (2017). Across their catalog, tracks like «Letting the Cables Sleep» show the band's melodic side, while the group remains best known for defining a heavier strand of 1990s alternative rock for mainstream rock radio.
