Bullet for My Valentine

Bullet for My Valentine are a Welsh rock band formed in Bridgend in 1998, initially under the name Jeff Killed John, before rebranding in 2003 alongside a shift toward the metalcore-influenced sound that would define their early career. Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Matt Tuck alongside lead guitarist Michael «Padge» Paget, the band built a following through aggressive riffing, melodic choruses and screamed-clean vocal contrasts typical of the mid-2000s metalcore wave.

Their breakthrough came with singles such as «Tears Don't Fall» and «Hand of Blood», which combined thrash metal-influenced guitar work with radio-friendly hooks, helping the band cross over from the metal underground to mainstream rock audiences in the UK and beyond. Subsequent releases, including «Scream Aim Fire», leaned further into thrash and heavy metal textures, while later albums such as «Gravity» saw the band experimenting with electronic elements alongside their guitar-driven core.

Throughout multiple lineup changes over the years, Tuck and Paget have remained the band's constant creative core, steering Bullet for My Valentine through an evolving sound that keeps one foot in melodic metalcore and the other in heavier, more traditional metal territory.
