Буерак (Buerak)

Буерак (Buerak) is a Russian post-punk and indie-rock band from Novosibirsk, formed in 2014 by Artyom Cherepanov and Alexander Makeev. The group emerged alongside a wider wave of Siberian and Russian indie acts sometimes dubbed the «new Russian wave» by critics, and quickly stood out for pairing tight, danceable arrangements with sharp, often absurdist lyrics.

The band's sound blends post-punk guitar textures with pop and electronic elements, giving their songs an accessible, hook-driven quality that belies the irony and dark humor of the lyrics. Tracks such as «Спортивные очки», «Культ Тела» and «Страсть к курению» showcase this mix of catchy melody and deadpan, satirical songwriting, which has made their music easy to latch onto after a single listen.
