About the artist
Buckcherry is an American rock band formed in Anaheim, California, in 1995 by vocalist Josh Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson. The group initially performed under the name Sparrow before adopting Buckcherry after a legal dispute over the name. Their self-titled 1999 debut album drew on hard rock and glam-tinged sleaze rock, earning gold certification and critical attention for its raw, guitar-driven sound reminiscent of 1970s and early '90s hard rock revivalists.
After a hiatus in the early 2000s, Buckcherry reformed in 2005 with a new lineup and returned with the album 15, which included the breakout single «Crazy Bitch». The song became one of the band's signature hits, propelling the album to multi-platinum success and cementing Buckcherry's reputation for brash, hook-laden rock built around Todd's gritty vocals and Nelson's riff-heavy guitar work.
Over subsequent albums, the band continued to mix radio-friendly rock anthems with ballads such as «Sorry», balancing party-rock bravado with more melodic, emotionally direct songwriting. Buckcherry is often grouped with other 2000s hard rock acts that revived a stripped-down, riff-forward sound distinct from the nu-metal and post-grunge dominating rock radio at the time.
