Breakbot

Breakbot is the recording alias of French producer Thibaut Berland, part of the Ed Banger Records scene alongside acts like Justice and Cassius that shaped the French filter-house and nu-disco sound of the late 2000s. He first drew attention with remixes of tracks by artists such as Kavinsky and Royksopp before releasing his breakout single «Baby, I'm Yours» in 2010, which brought him to French radio. His music blends warm analog synths, funk and disco basslines, and a laid-back, sun-soaked groove that sits between house music and classic boogie.

Breakbot's debut album, By Your Side, arrived in 2012 and cemented his reputation as one of the label's most melodic and song-oriented producers, often working with vocalist and frequent collaborator Irfane. His follow-up, Still Waters, was released in 2016 and continued the same blend of disco-inflected house with pop songwriting. He also contributed the track «Star Tripper» to the Star Wars Headspace compilation.

Beyond his albums, Breakbot built a reputation through curated DJ mixes such as his Lazy Sunday Selecta and the Bedtime Stories mix, showcasing his taste for smooth, groove-driven electronic music. His sound remains a touchstone for producers looking to combine dancefloor energy with pop accessibility.
