About the artist
Boston Manor are a British rock band formed in 2013 in Blackpool, a seaside town in Lancashire, England often overlooked on the UK music map. The band took their name from a historic house in London and built a lineup around vocalist Henry Cox, guitarists Mike Cunniff and Ash Wilson, bassist Dan Cunniff and drummer Jordan Pugh.
Emerging from the UK pop-punk and post-hardcore scene, Boston Manor gradually pushed past genre boundaries, folding in electronic textures, moodier atmospherics and darker lyrical themes about anxiety, disillusionment and small-town frustration. Songs such as «Laika», «Halo» and «Lead Feet» show the band moving from anthemic guitar hooks toward denser, more brooding production, while «The Day That I Ruined Your Life» and «Bad Machine» highlight Cox's increasingly confessional songwriting.
Over time the band became one of the more restless acts in their scene, unwilling to repeat a single formula record after record, which earned them a loyal following among fans of UK alternative and emo-adjacent rock who valued sonic evolution over predictability. Tracks like «Forget Me Not» and «England's Dreaming» reflect their recurring interest in national identity and disaffected youth culture as recurring lyrical threads.
