About the artist
Blue Rodeo are a Canadian country-rock band formed in Toronto in the mid-1980s by singer-songwriters Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy, who first met in high school. After a stint chasing careers in New York City, the pair returned to Toronto and assembled the band with bassist Bazil Donovan, drummer Cleave Anderson, and pianist Bobby Wiseman, releasing their debut album «Outskirts» in 1987.
Over nearly four decades the group built a catalog of more than a dozen studio albums, becoming one of Canada's most enduring rock acts and a defining voice in the country's roots and alt-country scene. Their commercial peak came with 1993's «Five Days in July», certified multi-platinum in Canada and featuring songs like «Hasn't Hit Me Yet» and «5 Days in May» that remain staples of Canadian radio. The band's sound blends jangly guitar rock, country twang, and warm harmonies, anchored by the songwriting partnership of Keelor and Cuddy.
Despite numerous lineup changes over the years, Keelor, Cuddy, and Donovan remained constants. The band's contributions to Canadian music have been widely recognized: they hold a star on Canada's Walk of Fame, were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2012, and received a Governor General's Performing Arts Award for lifetime achievement in 2014.
