Blue October

Blue October is an alternative rock band formed in Houston, Texas in 1995, led by singer and guitarist Justin Furstenfeld alongside his brother, drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld. Over the years the lineup has also included Ryan Delahoussaye on violin and piano, Matt Noveskey on bass, and Matthew Ostrander on lead guitar, giving the band an unusually textured sound for the genre, blending rock guitars with orchestral touches.

The band built its reputation on Justin Furstenfeld's raw, confessional songwriting, often drawing directly on his struggles with mental health, addiction, and relationships, which gave the music an emotional intensity that resonated widely with fans. Their breakthrough came with the 2003 album History for Sale and its single «Calling You», followed by the platinum-certified hits «Hate Me» and «Into the Ocean» from 2006's Foiled, songs that remain the band's signature and helped define a strain of early-2000s alt-rock centered on vulnerability and melodrama.

With over ten top 40 singles to their name, Blue October has maintained a loyal following through consistent touring and a steady stream of albums, standing as one of the more enduring and emotionally direct acts to emerge from the Texas rock scene.
