Bloodhound Gang

Bloodhound Gang is an American band from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, formed in 1991. They began as a rap group before evolving into an alternative rock/rap-rock outfit known for absurdist, sexually explicit lyrics packed with puns, pop-culture references, and shock humor. Fronted by Jimmy Pop, with bassist Jared Hasselhoff a longtime foil, the band built a cult following through outrageous live shows and music videos as much as through their records.

The group broke into the mainstream with «Fire Water Burn» from their album «One Fierce Beer Coaster» (1996), but achieved their biggest commercial success with «The Bad Touch», from «Hooray for Boobies» (1999), a song whose crude wit and Discovery Channel-referencing chorus became a novelty-rock staple across MTV and radio. «Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo» further cemented their reputation for gleeful vulgarity wrapped in undeniable hooks.

Bloodhound Gang's music sits at the intersection of rap, pop-punk, and electronic elements, always in service of comedy rather than seriousness, drawing comparisons to acts like the Beastie Boys and Ween for their genre-hopping irreverence. The band has remained a fixture of late-90s/early-2000s novelty and alt-rock nostalgia, known as much for controversy — including a widely publicized 2013 incident involving Hasselhoff and a Russian flag — as for their singles.
