About the artist
Blind Channel are a Finnish rock band from Oulu, formed in 2013 and releasing their first singles the following year. Combining post-hardcore heaviness with rap verses, electronic textures and pop hooks, the band describes its own sound as «violent pop» — a label that captures their genre-blending approach and high-energy live presence.
The band features dual vocalists Joel Hokka and Niko Moilanen, guitarist Joonas Porko, bassist Olli Matela and drummer/sampler Aleksi Kaunisvesi. Their breakthrough came on an international stage when Blind Channel represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song «Dark Side», finishing sixth — a strong result that introduced their aggressive, hook-laden style to a much wider European audience.
Beyond Eurovision, the band built a following through releases like «Bad Idea», «Time Bomb» and «Don’t», tracks that showcase their ability to shift between screamed and rapped verses and melodic, anthemic choruses. With three studio albums to their name and roots going back to 2014 singles, Blind Channel have become one of the most visible acts in the modern Finnish rock and post-hardcore scene, known for pairing heavy instrumentation with unabashedly commercial songwriting.
