Beartooth

Beartooth is an American metalcore band formed in Columbus, Ohio in 2012 by Caleb Shomo, who had previously served as vocalist and songwriter for Attack Attack!. Shomo began writing the material that would become Beartooth’s early releases while still in his former band, then assembled a lineup to bring the project to life. The group’s sound blends the aggression of metalcore and hardcore with melodic, radio-ready hooks, giving it crossover appeal beyond the heavier end of rock.

The band’s debut EP, «Sick», arrived in 2013, followed by the full-length «Disgusting» in 2014, an album praised for its raw production and confessional lyrics about anxiety and personal struggle. «Aggressive» followed in 2016, cementing Beartooth as one of the most consistent acts in modern metalcore, and «Disease» in 2018 continued the band’s streak of chart-topping rock albums.

Over the years the lineup around Shomo has evolved, with guitarists and rhythm section members rotating while Shomo remains the band’s primary songwriter and vocalist. Beartooth is known for lyrics that address mental health directly and for a live show built on high-energy, cathartic performances, qualities that have made the band a fixture of festival and rock-radio circuits.
