About the artist
Bear’s Den are a British folk-inflected alternative rock act from London, currently the duo of Andrew Davie (lead vocals, guitar) and Kevin Jones (vocals, drums, guitar, bass). The band emerged from London’s early-2010s nu-folk scene alongside acts like Mumford & Sons, initially as a trio with banjo player Joey Haynes, and built a following through relentless touring and a DIY approach, including hand-stamped early releases.
Their debut album, «Islands» (2014), established their reputation with earnest, anthemic songwriting anchored by acoustic instrumentation, and its single «Above the Clouds of Pompeii» received an Ivor Novello nomination. Following Haynes’ departure, Davie and Jones continued as a duo and released «Red Earth & Pouring Rain» (2016), broadening their sound with more electronic and atmospheric elements while retaining the emotive, folk-rooted core of their songwriting.
Bear’s Den are known for tightly crafted, emotionally direct songs, warm harmonies, and a live show built on the chemistry the pair developed through years of touring together. Their catalogue also includes tracks like «Agape», «Berlin», and «Sophie», reflecting a steady evolution from stripped-back folk toward a fuller, more layered alternative rock sound.
