Barenaked Ladies

Barenaked Ladies are a Canadian rock band formed in Scarborough, Ontario, built around the songwriting partnership of Steven Page and Ed Robertson. Emerging from Toronto's alternative scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the group became known for witty, wordy lyrics, tight vocal harmonies, and a genre-blending sound that folded folk, pop, and rap-inflected rhythms into a distinctly Canadian brand of alternative rock.

The band broke through internationally in the late 1990s, with their catchy, conversational songwriting reaching mainstream audiences beyond Canada. Their music is often marked by humor and self-aware storytelling, delivered through Page and Robertson's contrasting vocal styles, alongside a rhythm section that gave the songs a lively, sometimes percussive live-show energy.
