Badflower

Badflower are an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2013, built around vocalist and guitarist Josh Katz, lead guitarist Joey Morrow, bassist Alex Espiritu and drummer Anthony Sonetti. The band's name reportedly came from an offhand phrase Katz and Morrow both repeated in unison during a conversation, an odd coincidence that stuck as their identity. Their sound blends raw, confessional lyricism with heavy alt-rock dynamics, swinging between intimate, stripped-down moments and explosive, distortion-heavy choruses.

After releasing their debut EP «Temper» in 2016, the band broke through in 2018 with the single «Ghost», a moody, atmospheric track that introduced their willingness to tackle dark, personal subject matter directly. This led into their debut full-length album, «OK, I'M SICK», released in February 2019, which featured further singles including «x ANA x» — a song addressing eating disorders — and «Heroin», cementing the band's reputation for unflinching honesty in their songwriting.

Badflower have continued to build a dedicated following through intense live performances and material that doesn't shy away from difficult themes like mental health, addiction and vulnerability, distinguishing them within the modern American rock landscape. Songs like «Animal» and «The Jester» further showcase Katz's often visceral, theatrical vocal delivery paired with the band's dynamic instrumental interplay.
